500 days since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) has launched #Utes4Ukraine to purchase used utes and trucks to be transported to Ukraine, to assist Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline with medical evacuation, mobility of troops and effective logistics.
Announced at rallies in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hobart and Canberra, the initiative arose from a letter written by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Valerii Zaluzhnyy, to the AFUO Co-Chair, Ms Kateryna Argyrou, a month ago which asked the Australian-Ukrainian community and supporters of Ukraine to purchase used utes and trucks and transport them to Ukraine.
